In late 2005,the Board of Directors of the Medical Society of Northern Virginia (MSNVA) focused their energy on seeking solutions for vulnerable patients in need of specialty care. At about the same time, INOVA Alexandria Hospital's Healthy Communities Access Program (HCAP) began exploring the feasibility of creating such a system. The two initiatives were combined in mid-2006 and have become known as Project Access of Northern Virginia (PANV).
What is Project Access of Northern Virginia's Mission?
PANV's mission is to increase access to Speciality Care in Fairfax County and Alexandria City through a volunteer network of Physician Specialists who have pledged to provide care to low-income, uninsured patients of participating "safety net" entities at no cost.
